After reading some articles about wikinomics and macrowikinomics from Don Tapscott (see Quelle), I found one of his oppinions is quite inpressive and I also totaly believe that would be the future trends that the power of prosumer community will be stronger, but still with some concerns.

For example, Lego let consumers join the designs by sharing a construction program, which our teacher also mentioned in the course.  Similarly there is a Japanese company Mitsuoka has launched K4 car, which can be desinged by consumers. Also IBM shared codes with Linus community.

there is also a vedio in TED Talks from him about  'Four Principles for the open world', which is also quite interesting. He lists four principles that show how this open world can be a far better place, collabration, pransparency, sharing and empowerment. He pointed out that during collabration a lot of problems can be solved. I am also agree. In these years social media has helped to gather  voluneers when desaster came, for example in Haiti or Japan. or some website appears, like wikicrimes, which normal people use wiki to sharing the crime information.

Above are positive examples, which are good to the company or society. But I think it is sometimes difficult for a company to decide which interlectural property (IP) to share and which not, which is the key IP that keep the company competitve in the business world. Also for government what kind of information should be open to public? this is still hard to say.

to realize the openness, Peering, sharing or acting Globally we need to improve some frame conditions, like more detailed and explicit copy right protection, more structured crowd sourcing community and education which I think we should cultivation the generation 2.0 with the idea of open, sharing and collabration from the very beginning.

The Power of prosumers

richard.simmer.uni-linz, 14. April 2013, 11:56

I agree that the power of prosumers is getting more important and can result in customer satisfaction. Lego with their building bricks and Nike with their shoes are good examples where customers could participate in the production process. in these cases the participation helps the company to satisfy the customer needs.

However, I think it is a very difficult topic to decide in which areas customers should be involved in the production process. I think there are a lot of specific areas where customers don't have the necessary knolwedge to participate in the process.
