To be honest, I wasn’t aware how important a thesis statement really is. But I definitely learned that in our second meeting. For this time it was all about finding a thesis statement for our essay topic and, most importantly, trying to find a good formulation and phrasing for it. Apparently this is not the easiest task, but I hope that mine is suitable. We also did some talking about our individual topics in groups of four. I guess such discussions are pretty helpful because sometimes you learn things from others which you would have never realized yourself.
