It's all good

Hi everyone,

one shall not freak out when seeing such confusing instruments of communication like this collabor website. Truly freaky seems to me the so obvious lack of an inntuitive easy managable and handable site. After all this site has been created to enjoy quick and easy communications, yet in my eyes, is performing the exact opposite of what it was designed to do.

I wonder how well you all operate this site. I wonder whether it is just me. Anyhow, how do you like class so far? I find it amazing, to see the final paper growing and developing. It is, nevertheless, quite a bit of work and needs a lot of attention. The reading material for my topic is enormous, but unfortunaltey, not everthing is usable for my thesis. I am afraid, it will stay a challenge until the very end.

I will see you all tomorrow.

Johannes

Last but not least

Hi,

I just had the copy-shop print out the big poster size A1. You won't believe, for I could almost not believe it - they charged me the most rediculous amount of € 10,81. Can you imagine? I think I went to the wrong copy-shop but how was I supposed to know that there can be such a huge difference. In the course someone mentioned it costs around € 2,50.

I believe it was not in Dr. Brewster's attention that we should pay so much for I could get a minimum of three drink for the price of my poster. Halleluja, I have to sit back trying to contemplate a peaceful state of mind.

Well, that is life. Once again at the door step of your house trying to enter, bringing in the ups and downs.

See you soo fellows and thanks again for listening.

Johannes

Hey, I am really sorry for that poster incident of yours, maybe when can get Mr. Brewster to pay for some drinks so you are recompensated:-D

I like the dignified style of writing you keep in this blog and I admire you for the way you can word your ideas and thoughts like we are standing opposite each other and talking face to face:-)

Well, since today will be the last lesson, I hope we have a lot of fun and even without AW, can meet up for a drink sometime^^ Katha is already enlisted to go get something to drink with me;-)

See u soon

Form follows function

Hello Johannes!

I read the first few lines of your post on the front page and immediately became interested in the rest of it as I was involved in the development of the new (and current) default skin (that is how the data is displayed for you, the end user). I'm tutoring classes where collabor is used too and hardly ever had complaints by my students - especially since they are able to log in with their KUSSS accounts, which simplified the whole thing even more.

Collabor is designed to give access to basic functions that allow our students to publish their articles. Of course it's still a quite simple blogging system after all, so please keep in mind that it never intended to cover great messaging or (social) networking functionality as we know today. However for my understanding it does what it's supposed to do in a way that every student should be able to handle with ease.

Please let me know what you'd like to get changed in the future so our team can think about possible modifications.

Kind regards,
Reinhard
