Hi again,
this week we got feedback on the first draft of our paper and I am really satisfied with it! As I am also happy with my paper I am not going to change too much. Just some minor changes will be necessary. I think one reason why the paper is pretty okay is that it really focuses on relevant aspects. Now I know why word limitations exist. I am already looking forwrd to the poster presentations and naturally to finally handing in the final version of the paper! What are your experiences from the feedback on your papers?
See you in class,
Michael

Hi Michael,
I am very glad for you that most of your paper was okay ;-)
I was adviced by Mr. Brewster to add some sources from the MIT homepage. Thus, I have a question. I did not use internet sources till now, so I do not know if I should put them into a separate section within the reference list, or if I should just include the internet sources within the other sources?
Best, Ulli

Hi Michael, I am also happy to hear that. I hope my final version is that what Mr. Brewster expects. I really did this task with letting the paper lie for a day or so. I hope this helps to get a good grade on that ;).
Hi Ulli, I do not think that you need a new section in the references. I think all sources you have should be there at once but in alphabetic sequence of course.
I also have a question about the subheadings. I do have such subheadings but he said in the last course we should put them into the text and skip those subheadings. Howerver, he did not mark them in my paper. Therefore I am asking if I should skip them now or keep them? Do you have any ideas? Thank you on that in advance. :)
Best,
Pia

Hi Pia,
thank you for the advice ! I am not sure about your subheading-issue. However, I would dismiss the subheadings if it is not too complicated for you to incorporate them into the text. If you would like to leave them, then you might probably just leave them. Although, I would better dismiss them, since we write a paper which is not too long and which should be more like a journal article (and journal articles typically also do not have subheadings - at least not those I read so far).
I hope I could help you.
Best, Ulli
Sub-headings
michael.korntner.uni-linz, 10. Dezember 2012, 16:55
Hi Pia,
I also had these sub-headings and he marked mine in the first draft. Therefore, I integrated them into the text by just writing one starting sentence instead of the heading.
See you, Michael
Internet sources

Hi Ulli,
you don't need an own section for Internet sources. I think they have to appear along with the other sources!
See you tomorrow, Michael
